THE STORY BEHIND ATWEA MOUNTAINS

Atwea Mountains is located in Kumasi, Atwea to be precise in the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and it is popular for holding prayer camps not only for the Christian in Ghana, but for Africa as whole. Mount Kwamisa is one of the highest mountains in Ghana of about 2,479 feet.  A built prayer camp on the mountain. (Camp 3)    A portion of this mountain had been used as the Atwea Camp. Atwea camp is located on the Kwamisa Mountain that is the reason why it is the Atwea Mountain. Atwea Mountain is famous for its attraction of Christian pilgrims, who regularly visit the bid to ascend to the peak of the mountain to hold prayers and conventions.     According to historians, the act began so many decades ago when one local Methodist pastor in Atwea named Abraham Osei – Assibey climb the Atwea Bour (Atwea Stone) to go and pray to the Lord.
